A شاهد shāhid (act. part. of شہد 'to bear witness,' &c.), s.m. One who bears witness, a witness, deponent; (in P. shāhid or shāhad, m. & f.) a sweetheart, a beloved object; a handsome man; a beautiful woman; a female friend:—shāhid-ě-ḥāl, s.m. A witness of facts, an eye-witness:—shāhid-ě-roz, s.m. The sun.
