P شيرين shīrīn, vulg. shīrīṅ [shīr, q.v.+īn = Zend aff. aêna = S. इन्], adj. Sweet; pleasant; gentle, affable:—shīrīn-adā, adj. Of sweet or pleasing manners:—shīrīn-zabān, adj. Sweet-spoken, gentle-voiced, affable; eloquent:—shīrīn-zabānī, s.f. Sweetness of speech, affability; eloquence:—shīrīn-t̤abʻ, adj. Of sweet or gentle manners; of mild disposition:—shīrīn-kalām, or shīrīn-guftār, or shīrīn-maqāl, adj.=shīrīn-zabān, q.v.:—shīrīn-lab, adj. Sweet-lipped.
