(for A. شہرة, inf. n. of شہر 'to be apparent, or conspicuous,' &c.), Divulging, publishing; publicity, notableness, notoriety, celebrity, reputation, renown, fame, rumour, report:—shuhra-ě-āfāq, or shuhra-ě-ʻālam, adj. Of world-wide celebrity, renowned:—shuhrat paidā karnā (-kī), To acquire a reputation (for); to become famous:—shuhrat denā (-ko), To give publicity (to), to proclaim, to blazon:—shuhrat honā, v.n. To be famous; to be notorious.
