ستار sitār si+tār, qq.v.
H ستار sitār (si+tār, qq.v.), s.m. A kind of guitar with three strings (commonly a calabash, without any holes on the board, and mounted with from five to seven steel wires, all of which are used in playing, and that with both hands: sometimes it has nine or eleven wires; but generally three, whence its name):—sitār-bāz, s.m. One who plays (or is constantly playing) on the sitār:—sitār-bāzī, s.f. Playing on the sitār.
