P ستاره sitāra [Pārsī śtār, śtāra; Pehl. śtār, śtārak; Zend śtare; S. स्तर्], s.m. A star; fortune, fate, destiny;—a kind of firework (pl. sitāragān, 'stars'):—sitāra-peshānī, adj. Having a star in the forehead (a horse,—which is reckoned a blemish):—sitāra ćamaknā or ćamkā honā (-kā), 'One's star to be shining brightly,' to be in good luck, to be prospering:—sitāra-dān, sitāra-shumār or shumur, and sitāra-shinās, s.m.
