سير siyar

A سير siyar, s.f. pl. (of sīrat, q.v.), Qualities, morals, manners, dispositions; virtues.

سيد saiyid, vulg. saiyad, said v.n. fr. سود

A سيد saiyid, vulg. saiyad, said (v.n. fr. سود), s.m. A lord, ohief, prince;—any descendant of Mohammad, (esp.) a descendant of Husain (who was the grandson of Moham mad):—the second of the four classes into which Mohamma dans are divided; an in dividual of that class:—saiyidu' l-bashar, 'Prince of mortals,' i.e. Mohammad:—saiyidu' l-mursalīn yā ambiyā, 'Chief of the apostles, or prophets,' Mohammad:—saiyid-zāda, adj. & s.m. Born of a Saiyid;—a Saiyid's son.

سيار saiyār v.n. fr. سير 'to go; to journey,' c.

A سيار saiyār (v.n. fr. سير 'to go; to journey,' &c.), s.m. A journeyer, traveller, wanderer; a person taking the air, or one travelling for amusement.

شايد shāyad

P شايد shāyad [Pārsī shāyaṭ; 3rd pers. sing. aor. of shāyistan, rt. shāy; see shāyista], adv. It may be, perhaps, perchance, possibly, probably:—shāyad ki bāshad, It may be that it is, it may be so, perhaps it is.
