P تخت taḵẖt [Zend thwakhshta, rt. thwakhsh; S. त्वष्ट, rt. त्वक्ष, 'to hew, fashion;' cf. taḵẖta], s.m. Throne, chair of state; seat, stage, platform; sofa, bed; any place raised above the ground for sitting, reclining, or sleeping:—taḵẖt-baḵẖt, s.m. Throne and fortune; marriage-bed and offspring, wedlock and wealth (a form of benediction, particularly used by women):—taḵẖt-par baiṭhālnā or biṭhānā, v.t. To seat on a throne, to enthrone:—taḵẖt-par baiṭhnā, v.n. To sit on a throne; to ascend the throne, to reign:—taḵẖt-posh, s.m. A covering for a throne, seat, &c.; a cloth or cushion to sit on; a covered stage or platform:—taḵẖt ćhoṛnā, v.n. To abdicate a throne:—taḵẖt-dār, s.m. Possessor of a throne, a king:—taḵẖt-ě-ravān, s.m.
