تهل थल thal

H تهل थल thal [Prk. थलं; S. स्थलं], s.m. Firm or dry ground, land (as opp. to water); ford; ground or land, soil; place, spot, site; den of a lion or tiger; raised ground, a mound; a sandhill:—thal-andar vidyā, s.f. The science of mineralogy:—thal-beṛā, s.m. Ford or boat;—place of abode; the whereabouts (of a person); (fig.) means of attaining one's desires:—thal-ćar, thal-ćārī, adj. & s.m. Moving on land, land, terrestrial (animal);—a land animal.

تهال थाल thāl

H تهال थाल thāl = H تهالا थाला thālā [S. स्थालं, and स्थाल+कं], s.m. A large flat plate or dish of metal (usually brass, or bell-metal); a tray;—(thālā), the basin or trench dug round the root of a tree for holding water; the excavation in which a tree is to be planted.

H ٿهيل ठेल ṭhel = H ٿهيلا ठेला ṭhelā (v.n. fr. ṭhel-nā), s.m. Push, shove, thrust, impulse;—ṭhelā, A truck; a trolly; a wheel-barrow:—ṭhel-ans, s.m. A share or portion of land acquired by force:—ṭhelā-ṭhelī, ṭhelam-ṭhel, s.f. Shoving and shouldering, pushing, jostling:—ṭhelā-gāṛī, s.f. A truck, &c.=ṭhelā.

A طحال t̤iḥāl, s.f. The spleen (syn. tillī).

H ٿہل टहल ṭahal [S. त्रख्+र; cf. ṭagharnā; ṭaghalnā], s.f. lit. 'A moving or walking to and fro'; work, business, task, duty; service, attendance; toil, drudgery; housekeeping, housewifery:—ṭahal-ṭakor, ṭahal-ṭakorī, s.f.=ṭahal:—ṭahal karnā, or ṭahal-ṭakor karnā (-kī), To serve, attend (on); to labour, drudge:—ṭahal lagānā (-kī), To dance attendance (on).
