A وزير wazīr (v.n. fr. وزر 'to bear (a burden), to support,' &c.), s.m. Vizier, minister of state, privy-counsellor;—(at chess) the queen;—(at cards) the knave:—wazīr-ě-aʻz̤am, or wazīruʼl-mulk, or wazīruʼl-mamālik, or wazīruʼl-wuzarā, s.m. The grand Vizier, prime-minister.
