زنانه zanāna

P زنانه zanāna [zan+āna = Zend ana, or āna = S. अन; or zanān+a = Zend a = S. a], adj. & s.m. Female, feminine; womanly; effeminate;—an effeminate person, a woman; a eunuch (an individual of a class whose occupation is singing and dancing, &c.);—women's apartments, seraglio, harem;—women, wives.

H جنانا जनाना janānā (caus. of jānnā), v.t. To cause to know, to inform, &c.=jatānā (which is the form commonly used in Hindī and Urdū, janānā being used chiefly in Braj).

H جاننا जानना jānnā [jān˚ = Prk. जाण(इ)=S. जाना(ति), rt. ज्ञा;+nā = Prk. अणअं=S. अनीयं], v.t To know, apprehend, understand, comprehend; to ascertain; to become aware of; to perceive; to recognize; to suppose, believe, hold, deem, think, consider, fancy, conceive; to judge, esteem, account;—s.m. Knowledge, cognizance, apprehension, opinion, &c. (e.g. hamāre jānne-meṅ āʼī hai):—jān-paṛnā (-ko), To become known or clear, to be evident; to be perceived, to be visible, to appear; to seem, to occur (mentally, to); to approve itself (to):—jān-rakhnā (-ko), To bear in mind, to remember:—jān-lenā, v.t. To get a knowledge of, to understand, perceive, apprehend; to recognize.
