mujhse meri hayat ruTh gai

har masarrat se kinara kar liya

tu jo aabaad hai ai dost mere dil ke qarib

waqt ab sar pe wo aaya hai ki sar yaad nahin

munkashif talKHi-e-haalat na hone pai

aaj kyun chup hain tere saudai

dil apna yaad-e-yar se begana to nahin

tumhaari did ki rahen talash karti hain

dil gham-e-ishq ke izhaar se katraata hai

kuchh hasin yaaden bhi hain dida-e-nam ke sath sath

kya kahen kya kuchh raha kya kah gae

wo jinhen zindagi na ras aai

kahin bhi ho nazar aata hai par dil mein sanam mujhko

na miTa hijr ka aazar to phir kya hoga

chandni pighli hui har ek paimane mein hai

ewaz kab wafa ka wafa mangte hain

hadis-e-ahd-e-guzishta hai ham-nashinon mein

fareb-e-yas kha jaen sitaro jagte rahna

jab tabiat qafas mein ghabrai
