Profile of Anees Nagi
Anees Nagi did his Masters from Oriental College. He stood First in M.A.Urdu examinations and was awarded a Gold Medal by the University of Punjab. Later, he got a doctorate in Urdu literature from University of the Punjab.
He wrote about 79 books covering a broad arena varying from poetry, criticism, novels, short stories and biographies. He regularly wrote literary columns and himself edited a quarterly journal by the name of Danishwar. His novel Deewaar ke Peeche was well appreciated by his readers and fans. His books Modern Urdu Poems from Pakistan was received well in the literary circles both nationally and internationally.
He breathed his last in Punjab Public Library on 7 October 2010, just before giving a lecture to his PhD and MA students.
