Maulana Syed Husain Ahmad Madani (1879–1957) was a renowned Islamic scholar, hadith expert, and freedom fighter of the Indian subcontinent. His original name was Husain Ahmad, and he was regarded as one of the prominent successors of Shaykh-ul-Hind Maulana Mahmud Hasan Deobandi. He was born on 19 Shawwal 1296 AH, corresponding to 1879, in Bangarmau, Unnao district, Uttar Pradesh. He belonged to a distinguished religious and scholarly family and traced his lineage to Imam Husain ibn Ali.

Maulana Husain Ahmad Madani received his early education from his father and joined Darul Uloom Deoband at a young age, where he studied Islamic sciences under eminent scholars. He later became one of the prominent teachers of Darul Uloom Deoband and served as its Shaykh al-Hadith. Alongside his scholarly and teaching activities, his life was closely associated with the political and social movements of the Indian subcontinent.

He played an active role in opposing the Shuddhi movement and in safeguarding the religious and social interests of Muslims. He was also associated with Jamiat Tabligh-ul-Islam, United Provinces, Agra, serving as its Vice President in 1931 and as a member of Jamiat Tabligh-ul-Islam, United Provinces, Kanpur, in 1941. His scholarship, religious services, and active engagement in public life earned him a prominent place in the religious and political history of the Indian subcontinent.
