Profile of Maulana Bilali Ali Abadi
Maulana Bilali Aliabadi was a distinguished Islamic scholar, poet, writer, and orator from Bahraich in the twentieth century. He was born in 1918 in Nawab Ganj Aliabad, district Bahraich. After completing his early education locally, he pursued Arabic and Persian studies at Jamia Masoodia Noorul Uloom, Bahraich. He later graduated from Darul Muballigheen, Lucknow, where he received special guidance from Maulana Mahfoozur Rahman Nami and other eminent teachers.
Maulana Bilali Aliabadi earned recognition for his scholarship, literary taste, and eloquent speaking style. He remained closely associated with the literary atmosphere of Lucknow and maintained connections with several noted poets and writers of his time. His poetry reflects religious, ethical, and classical literary traditions.
His notable works include Pul-e-Sirat, Hijrat-o-Yar, Tohfa-e-Salaam, Lailat-ul-Meraj, Aftab-e-Karbala, Manzoom Lali, Sagar-e-Husn, and Kulliyat-e-Bilali.
He passed away on 17 March 1987 in Lucknow due to an accident and was buried in his native town Nawab Ganj, Bahraich.
