Purportedly, an Indo-Pak mushaira was held in Karachi immediately after the partition. The audience was enthralled when Fana Nizami Kanpuri sang this ghazal in his distinct Tarnnum. And all the members of the gathering were overwhelmed by emotions.
ġhairat-e-ahl-e-chaman ko kyā huā
chhoḌ aa.e āshiyāñ jaltā huā
ghairat-e-ahl-e-chaman ko kya hua
chhoD aae aashiyan jalta hua
