Rasheed Sandeelvi is regarded as one of the prominent contemporary poets of Urdu ghazal. He was born on January 1, 1959, in Sandelianwali, Toba Tek Singh. He completed his M.A. in Urdu from Punjab University, Lahore, in 1983. In 1982, he joined AGPR as a Senior Auditor and, after a long tenure in government service, retired on December 31, 2018.
Rasheed Sandeelvi seamlessly blends the classical poetic tradition with modern sensibilities and intellectual depth, carving out a distinctive style of his own. His poetry reflects a beautiful fusion of astonishment, profound experiences, and the myriad shades of life. In 2021, he contracted COVID-19, yet despite this trial, his creative journey remained uninterrupted.
