apnī har ik adā meñ bahut dil-nashīn thā
vo qatl kar ke mere hī dil kā makīn thā
ye thā fareb-e-husn yā husn-e-fareb thā
har sang-e-rahguzar jo milā vo hasīn thā
raushan the merī āñkhoñ meñ har-sū charāġh-e-shauq
hastī sarāb thī tirā milnā yaqīn thā
fitrat meñ bevafā.ī thī lekin mire liye
ḳhushbū bikhertā huā lahja amiin thā
sachchā ho 'ishq jaise zuleḳhā kā 'ishq thā
chehra ho jaise chehra-e-yūsuf hasīn thā
'naqvī' jo muskurātā rahā dil ko toḌ ke
us ke har ek makr pe sad-āfrīn thā
