دل اگر داغ دار ہو جاتا
دل اگر داغ دار ہو جاتا
اک سراپا بہار ہو جاتا
دامن صبر ہجر کے ہاتھوں
کیوں نہ یوں تار تار ہو جاتا
وائے مجبوریاں محبت کی
ضبط پر اختیار ہو جاتا
میں نے یوں شکوۂ جفا نہ کیا
وہ اگر شرمسار ہو جاتا
پاس ہوتا اگر وہ جان بہار
بے نیاز بہار ہو جاتا
اک نگاہ کرم جو ہو جاتی
پھر تو بیڑا ہی پار ہو جاتا
ان کی ترچھی نظر کا کیا کہنا
جس پہ پڑتی شکار ہو جاتا
ان نگاہوں کی مستیاں توبہ
مے کدہ شرمسار ہو جاتا
پیار کرتے ہیں وہ جنہیں شنکرؔ
کاش ان میں شمار ہو جاتا
