ہمارے سر پہ کوئی ہاتھ تھا نہ سایہ تھا
ہمارے سر پہ کوئی ہاتھ تھا نہ سایہ تھا
بس آسماں تھا جسے جانے کیوں بنایا تھا
کسی سے شام ڈھلے چھن گیا تھا پایۂ تخت
کسی نے صبح ہوئی اور تخت پایا تھا
وہ ایک صبح بہت زر فشاں تھی قریے پر
اور ایک کھیت بہت سبز لہلہایا تھا
بس ایک باغ تھا پانی کے جس میں چشمے تھے
اور ایک گھر تھا جسے خاک سے بنایا تھا
پکار اٹھیں گے نابود بستیوں کے نشاں
کہ اس نواح میں کوئی نذیر آیا تھا
