    jaane kis ālam-e-ehsās meñ kho.e hue haiñ

    ham haiñ vo log ki jaage haiñ na so.e hue haiñ

    apne anjām dekhegā tamāshā kabhī vo

    jīte-jī ham to abhī se use ro.e hue haiñ

    daaġh miTtā nahīñ kuchh aur numāyāñ huā hai

    apne haath aap ne kis chiiz se dho.e hue haiñ

    kuchh samajh meñ nahīñ aatā ye mukāfāt-e-amal

    kāTte kyuuñ nahīñ jo aap ne bo.e hue haiñ

    ruuh apnī rahī hai qurb-e-badan se sarshār

    ham farishte nahīñ dāman ko bhigo.e hue haiñ

    saañs lene ko bhī ab in taraf dekhtā huuñ

    nok-e-nashtar jo rag-e-jāñ meñ chubho.e hue haiñ

    kyā milā un se hameñ ḳhaak nadāmat ke sivā

    ham bhī kin ḳhvāboñ ta.abīr ko Dho.e hue haiñ

    itne nādāñ bhī nahīñ ham ki samajh bhī na sakeñ

    aap lahje meñ jo shīrīnī samo.e hue haiñ

    jaane kis aalam-e-ehsas mein khoe hue hain

    hum hain wo log ki jage hain na soe hue hain

    apne anjam ka dekhega tamasha kabhi wo

    jite-ji hum to abhi se use roe hue hain

    dagh miTta nahin kuchh aur numayan hua hai

    apne hath aap ne kis chiz se dhoe hue hain

    kuchh samajh mein nahin aata ye mukafat-e-amal

    kaTte kyun nahin jo aap ne boe hue hain

    ruh apni rahi hai qurb-e-badan se sarshaar

    hum farishte nahin daman ko bhigoe hue hain

    sans lene ko bhi ab in ki taraf dekhta hun

    nok-e-nashtar jo rag-e-jaan mein chubhoe hue hain

    kya mila un se hamein KHak nadamat ke siwa

    hum bhi kin KHwabon ki tabir ko Dhoe hue hain

    itne nadan bhi nahin hum ki samajh bhi na saken

    aap lahje mein jo shirini samoe hue hain
