जब कभी मेरे क़दम सू-ए-चमन आए हैं
अपना दुख दर्द लिए सर्व ओ समन आए हैं
पाँव से लग के खड़ी है ये ग़रीब-उल-वतनी
उस को समझाओ कि हम अपने वतन आए हैं
झाड़ लो गर्द-ए-मुसर्रत को बिठा लो दिल में
भूले-भटके हुए कुछ रंज ओ मेहन आए हैं
जब लहू रोए हैं बरसों तो खुली ज़ुल्फ़-ए-ख़याल
यूँ न इस नाग को लहराने के फ़न आए हैं
कुछ अजब रंग है इस आन तबीअत का 'नईम'
कुछ अजब तर्ज़ के इस वक़्त सुख़न आए हैं
