हम थे वक़्फ़-ए-हसरत-ए-दीदार वो रू-पोश था
मेरे नालों ने तो महशर आज ही बरपा किया
हुस्न तो रोज़-ए-अज़ल से हश्र दर आग़ोश था
हम जवाँ हो कर अगर मदहोश हैं तो क्या अजब
मरने जीने का लड़कपन में हमें कब होश था
कैसे कैसे गुल खिलाए एक मुश्त-ए-ख़ाक ने
मेरी बर्बादी में पोशीदा नुमू का जोश था
उफ़ शब-ए-फ़ुर्क़त की हैबतनाक तारीकी 'हयात'
मैं मिसाल-ए-शम्अ जलता था मगर ख़ामोश था
