Identity: Scholar of Islamic Studies author of several books on Sufism
Ghulam Yahya Anjum belongs to Siddharthnagar district in Uttar Pradesh, India. He received his traditional Islamic education and completed the Dars-e-Nizami curriculum at Jamia Ashrafia, Mubarakpur. He later earned his M.A., M.Phil., and Ph.D. in Arabic Language and Literature from Aligarh Muslim University.
A distinguished writer in both Arabic and Urdu, he remained associated with the Department of Islamic Studies at Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi, for many years, serving as Professor and Head of the Department. He later also headed the Department of Theology. He has played an important role in advocating curricular reforms in madrasah education and the inclusion of contemporary subjects alongside traditional Islamic studies.
Ghulam Yahya Anjum has made significant contributions to scholarship and research.
