Abdul Hamid Johar Basodvi was a distinguished Urdu poet from Madhya Pradesh who made valuable contributions to Urdu poetry and the promotion of the Urdu language. In recognition of his literary contributions, the Madhya Pradesh Urdu Academy dedicated a session of its Silsila literary programme in 2024 to his memory, paying tribute to his life, poetry, and services to Urdu literature.
