sham-e-gham raushni ki baat karen

hamari samt zara ab wo dekhta kam hai

chahte ho ki andheron ka yahan dam na rahe

dil hai kyun be-qarar kya jaano

wo agar be-KHabar nahin hota

wasf karte hain zulf-e-yar ka hum

bijli ko mehman kiye arsa guzar gaya

kaenat-e-dard ke hamil hain hum

tum apne aap mein aisa karo ek rahbar paida

mere pairon mein jo beDi paDi hai

chalo mana diya tum main dhuan hun

chamak rahi hai andhere mein bhi kiran ki tarah

sitam pe bhi KHalish-e-intizar hai ki nahin

milne ko har ek bazm mein farzane milenge

soz-e-ulfat dard-e-dil zaKHm-e-jigar ki baat hai

kaun kahta hai ki mazi ke parastar hain hum
