is nagrī meñ 'pāshā' sāhab kis ko samjhāoge
har ik kī apnī Daflī har ik kā apnā raag
is nagri mein 'pasha' sahab kis ko samjhaoge
har ek ki apni Dafli har ek ka apna rag
vo ek shaḳhs jo mahfil meñ boltā thā bahut
sunā hai ahl-e-nazar se vo khokhlā thā bahut
TRANSLATION
The one who used to speak a lot in a gathering,
I’ve heard from the learned, he was empty within.
