Salim Husain, who writes under the pen name Saalim (سالم), was born and raised in Lucknow, a city renowned as the cradle of adab and tehzeeb. He received his early education in Urdu at a madrasa and under the guidance of a moallim at home, which nurtured his enduring love for the language. After completing his post-graduation in Computer Science, he moved to the Middle East and is currently based in Qatar. His poetic journey has been shaped by the guidance of Mr. Iqbal Rizvi (Sharib) and the encouragement of Dr. Sibte Hasan of Lucknow. He also runs a YouTube channel, Dabistaan-e-Adab, where he shares selected Urdu poems.
