Surriya  Rehman. Homeland Allahabad. She was the daughter of Sayed Basheer Husain, who was the grandson of Akbar Allahabadi. She lived in Delhi for a long time and died in Delhi in 2003. She was a poet, novelist and singer. She was a disciple of the famous singer Begum Akhtar. She was very active in the cultural circles of Delhi.  Door Darshan TV had also made a film on her long poem on national integration "Holi". Her four poetry collections have been published: “Chashm e Khoon basta”; “ Dard ki aanch”; “ Mushk o Ambar” and “ Khwabon ki Mahek”.
