Dr. Mohammad Zahidul Haque (born 26 June 1977) is an Indian scholar, literary critic, poet, and academic from Araria, Bihar. After completing his early education in his hometown, he graduated from Aligarh Muslim University with distinction and a high academic standing. He subsequently pursued higher studies at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, where he earned his M.A., M.Phil., and Ph.D. in Urdu. During his doctoral research, he was awarded both the UGC Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Senior Research Fellowship (SRF).

Dr. Haque's academic interests centre on classical Urdu poetry, particularly the ghazal, as well as comparative literature, literary criticism, and the sociological study of literary traditions. His engagement with poetry began at an early age, and over the years he has established himself as a thoughtful scholar of Urdu literature, combining rigorous research with a deep appreciation of literary aesthetics.

He has authored four books, published more than thirty-five research papers, translated literary works, written numerous book reviews, and contributed chapters to edited volumes. His major publications include Inamullah Khan Yaqeen: Ahd Aur Shayari, Bisat-e-Naqd, Baig Ehsas: Fikr, Fan Aur Shakhsiyat (edited), and Pas-e-Arz-e-Hunar, an anthology of Sultan Akhtar's ghazals.

For over a decade, Dr. Haque was associated with teaching and research, serving for several years as Assistant Professor in the Department of Urdu at the University of Hyderabad. He currently serves as the Director of the Khuda Bakhsh Oriental Public Library, Patna, one of India's premier manuscript and research libraries, where he is actively engaged in the preservation, promotion, and dissemination of the country's rich literary and cultural heritage.

In recognition of his scholarly contributions, he received the prestigious Imdad Imam Asar Award for Research from the Bihar Urdu Academy in 2013.
