کٹھن ہو وقت تو اکثر پکارتا ہے حسین
کہ دین حق تجھے کھل کر پکارتا ہے حسین
بساط دے کہ نئی کربلا سجائیں ہم
پھر آج شمر کا خنجر پکارتا ہے حسین
فضائے شب میں یہ کس کی صدائیں آتی ہیں
یہ کون ہے جو کھلے سر پکارتا ہے حسین
عجیب شان سے گزرے ہیں کربلا والے
ہر ایک میل کا پتھر پکارتا ہے حسین
عقیلؔ جب اٹھا ناموس دین حق کا سوال
رگوں میں خون اچھل کر پکارتا ہے حسین
