P عقيده ʻaqīda, s.m. = P عقيدت ʻaqīdat, s.f. (for A. عقيدة, v.n. fr. عقد 'to tie,' &c.; see ʻaqd), A belief, faith, firm persuasion; a creed; an article of belief; a doctrine; a religious tenet:—ʻaqīdat-mand, adj. Having firm belief or faith, being firmly persuaded; faithful, believing:—bad-ʻaqīda, adj. Unbelieving, sceptical.
