A حلف ḥalf, vulg. ḥalaf (inf. n. of حلف 'to swear'), s.m. Swearing (by anything sacred); an oath:—ḥalf uṭhānā, v.n. To take an oath, make oath, to swear:—ḥalf-darog̠ī, s.f.
