A حول ḥaul (inf. n. of حول 'to change,' &c.), s.m. Changing; returning; passing by or over; detaining;—a year;—strength, power, might;—deceit:—lā ḥaul, a deprecatory phrase, contrac. fr. lā ḥaula wa lā quwwata illā biʼl-lāhiʼl-ʻalīyiʼl-ʻaz̤īm, 'There is no strength nor power but in God, the High, the Great.'
