To stretch, stretch out, extend, expand; to open wide, distend, dilate; to enlarge, increase; to lengthen, draw out, deploy; to spread, spread out; to scatter, strew; to diffuse, spread abroad, publish, proclaim, propagate; to spread over, to distribute, apportion; to work out (a sum), to compute, calculate.

H پهلنا फलना phalnā [phal˚ = Prk. फल(इ) = S. फल(ति), rt. फल्;+nā or anā = Prk. अणअं=S. अनीयं], v.n. To bear fruit, be in fruit, to produce; to have issue; to result, be produced as a consequence; to be fortunate, to prosper;—to break out into blisters, pimples, &c., to have an eruption on the face and body:—phalnā phūlnā, v.n. To bud and blossom; to flourisb, thrive.

To blossom, blow, flower; to bloom, flourish, to be in health and spirits;—to swell, be inflated, be puffed out; to swell out, to expand (with joy), to be pleased; to be puffed up (with pride, &c.); to be big with child:—phūl-baiṭhnā, v.n. To expand with delight, be pleased or glad:—phūl-paṛnā, v.n. (intensive), To swell out, &c.:—phūl-jānā, v.n. To swell, &c.=phūlnā.
