H پهيرا फेरा pherā [phera = pher, q.v.+Prk. अओ=S. कः], s.m. Turning; round, circuit; perambulation; walking (of the bride and bridegroom) round (the sacred fire); returning, return; alternating, alternation;—a roll;—a wooden frame with which lime, sand, &c. is measured (so called from its being passed over the lime, &c.):—pherā-phārī, pherā-pherī, s.f. Frequent change, &c. (=pher-phār); change, exchange, interchange; returning, alternating, alternation; walking backwards and forwards; going and coming repeatedly, visiting, visits:—phere ḍālnā (-ke), To lead (a bride) round (the sacred fire), to marry, give in marriage:—phere honā or phere paṛnā (-ke), To be led round (the sacred fire), to be married.
