شرف sharaf inf. n. of شرف 'to be or become exalted,' c.

A شرف sharaf (inf. n. of شرف 'to be or become exalted,' &c.), s.m. Highness of rank, &c., exaltation, eminence, excellence, rank, grandeur, glory, honour, dignity, nobility:—sharaf-baḵẖsh, adj. Conferring honour, &c.:—sharaf le-jānā (-par), To bear away the palm (from), to excel, surpass:—sharaf-nāk, adj. Honourable, noble, &c.:—sharaf-yāb, adj. Ennobled, honoured.
