Profile of Naushaba Khatoon
Naushaba Khatoon Qureshi, Pen Name Naushaba khatoon. Born in 1900 at Amroha. UP . She lived in Hyderabad. Her father, Maulvi Abdul Haq, was a police officer. After home schooling , Naushaba passed the examination of Munshi fazil from Punjab University. She obtained her BA degree from Osmania University in 1924. She was the first woman to receive a BA degree from the Osmania University. After that, she became a lecturer of Arabic and Persian language at Women's College. Beside poetry she also wrote articles on women's education and other social issues. Unfortunately, on the day her poetry collection “Moj-e-Takhiyul”, was published, Noshaba lost 's her mental balance and she remained insane from then until her death.
