Dehlvis and Lakhnavis were perhaps always at loggerheads with each other. Both were positively sure that they outdid the other in both poetry and the Urdu language. They would often exchange a line of a couplet and would challenge the other with by making them come up with potential second lines of those couplets. Dilliwaals were quite known for their delicacy of thought, and thus, sent this line, 'rag-e-gul se bulbul ke par baa.ndhte hai.n', in reply the lakhnavis suggested the following line.
