Anwar Afaki (real name: Muhammad Imam al-Huda Anwar) was born on August 7, 1954, in Balia village, located in Biroul police station area of Darbhanga district, Bihar. He hails from the city of Darbhanga and presently resides there permanently.
He earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree and also completed a diploma in Automobile Engineering. In 2007, he obtained his M.A. in Urdu with distinction from Maulana Azad National Urdu University, Hyderabad.
Anwar Afaki began his professional career at Bokaro Steel Plant, later working in Dhanbad and Jalgaon (Maharashtra). He then moved to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and subsequently spent several years working in various Gulf countries in different professional roles. He retired in 2016 as an Engineering Officer from Al Ain International Airport, United Arab Emirates.
Despite his demanding professional life abroad, his passion for literature remained undiminished. He actively participated in and organized numerous literary events in the Gulf region and also took part in several international poetry festivals. After his retirement, he returned to India and has remained deeply involved in literary pursuits from his residence in Darbhanga.
To date, seven of his books have been published, which include:

In addition, his latest poetry collection titled "Zameen Jalne Lagi Hai" is currently under publication and is scheduled to be released by Mansa Shahood in 2025.
