آؤ بیٹھو پرے کھڑے کیوں ہو
تم تو ہنس کر دکھانے والے تھے
آنکھ ملتے ہی رو پڑے کیوں ہو
وہ جو میداں میں لے کے آیا تھا
کہہ رہا ہے مجھے لڑے کیوں ہو
تم پہ آری چلانا بنتا ہے
میرے قامت سے تم بڑے کیوں ہو
مجھ سے پوچھا نہ اہل گلشن نے
سبز پتے کہو جھڑے کیوں ہو
کوئی اشفاقؔ وقت سے پوچھے
خستہ حالوں پہ یوں کڑے کیوں ہو
