اور ہم انتظار کر نہ سکے
خود کو بھی کر سکے نہ خود اپنا
ایک دریا بھی پار کر نہ سکے
کتنی راتیں تھیں کتنے تارے تھے
کیا کہیں جب شمار کر نہ سکے
آرزو بار بار ملنے کی
گفتگو ایک بار کر نہ سکے
اب صباؔ کیا شمار نیکی کا
وہ جو تم بے شمار کر نہ سکے
