کرشن موہن جن دنوں کمشنر آف انکم ٹکس تھے تو ان کے اعزاز میں ایک دعوت ہوئی، اس میں گوپال متل بھی مدعو تھے۔ کرشن موہن نے غزلیں سنانا شروع کیں، تو مسلسل سناتے ہی رہے۔ اچانک انہوں نے پانی مانگا تو گوپال متل نے میزبان کو مخاطب کرتے ہوئے کہا،
’’اسے پانی نہ دینا ورنہ یہ تازہ دم ہوکر اورغزلیں سنائے گا۔‘‘
