Profile of Ameen Hazin
Ameen Hazin Sialkoti (born Khwaja Mohammad Masih Pal; 1884–1968) was born into a Kashmiri family in Sialkot, Punjab (now in Pakistan). He was also awarded the title of Khan Bahadur by the British government. The influence of Allama Muhammad Iqbal is distinctly evident in his Urdu poetry, and he remained deeply associated with Iqbal’s intellectual and artistic tradition. Writing on national, social, and moral themes, he sought to emulate Iqbal’s poetic style and vision. Although his poetry did not attain the same level of popularity as Iqbal’s, he occupies an important place in studies of Iqbal’s influence on Urdu literature.
