aaj phir dab ga.iiñ dard kī siskiyāñ
aaj phir gūñjtā qahqaha rah gayā
aaj phir dab gain dard ki siskiyan
aaj phir gunjta qahqaha rah gaya
ham ḳhud bhī hue nādim jab harf-e-duā niklā
samjhe the jise patthar vo shaḳhs ḳhudā niklā
hum KHud bhi hue nadim jab harf-e-dua nikla
samjhe the jise patthar wo shaKHs KHuda nikla
jām-e-ishq pī chuke zindagī bhī jī chuke
ab 'hilāl' ghar chalo ab to shaam ho ga.ī
jam-e-ishq pi chuke zindagi bhi ji chuke
ab 'hilal' ghar chalo ab to sham ho gai
javāb is savāl kā bhī de zarā mujhe
uḌā ke laa.ī hai yahāñ pe kyuuñ havā mujhe
