Maqbool Zaki Maqbool, whose real name is Maqbool Hussain, was born on 1 January 1977 in Layyah, Punjab, Pakistan. His father’s name is Iqbal Hussain. Professionally, he is associated with the Health Department and resides in Mankera city, Bhakkar district, Punjab, Pakistan.
He formally began writing poetry in 2005 and prose in 2014. His published works include Sajda, Muntaha-e-Fikr, Sunahre Log, Roshan Chehre, Aitraf-e-Fan: Asim Bukhari, Shanzerat-e-Maqbool, Ye Mera Bhakkar, Andaz-e-Bayan Dekh, Asim Bukhari: Shakhs aur Shair, Hub Dar Qaim: Jagmagata Sitara, and Husn-e-Bayan.
Three BS Urdu dissertations have been written on his literary contributions at Ghazi University, Dera Ghazi Khan. A book titled Maqbool Zaki Maqbool Ki Adabi Maqbooliyat by Rehana Batool has already been published, while another volume, Maqbool Zaki Maqbool: Khiraj-e-Fan, is in the final stages of publication.
He is the founding chairman of Bazm-e-Auj-e-Adab (Bhakkar). In recognition of his literary services, he has received 6 gold medals, 26 awards, 15 certificates of honor, along with several cash prizes and distinctions. He has also remained associated with more than a dozen newspapers, magazines, and literary journals.
