Salma Jilani, Born 02May, 1962, Karachi. Emigrated to New Zealand in 2001. She is a short story writer, poet and translator. She has also written and translated stories for children. She has been teaching Commerce in colleges in Pakistan and New Zealand. She is the co- editor of “Deedban”, an online Urdu magazine
