Shabeena Adeeb is one of the most celebrated and popular contemporary Urdu poetesses, widely admired in India and across the world. Known for her melodious voice, powerful expression, and unique poetic style, she has earned a distinguished place in modern Urdu poetry and mushairas. Her poetry reflects deep emotions, simplicity of language, and an extraordinary ability to connect with audiences of all ages.

She was born on 27 December 1974 in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. Shabeena Adeeb pursued her education in Urdu literature and completed her Bachelor’s degree along with Moallim training. Her inclination toward poetry developed at a very young age, and by the age of 15, she had already begun writing verses. At 16, she started participating in poetic gatherings, displaying remarkable confidence and talent.

Her first major public appearance was in 1994 at an All-India mushaira in Azamgarh, where she shared the stage with renowned poets, including Kaifi Azmi. This marked the beginning of her professional poetic journey. She considers the late poet Haq Banarasi as her mentor, whose guidance played a significant role in shaping her literary career.

Shabeena Adeeb’s first poetry collection, “Tum Mere Paas Raho,” was published in 2007 and received immense appreciation from readers and critics alike. Since then, she has performed in countless mushairas and literary events worldwide. She has traveled extensively to countries such as Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Nepal, Oman, and Malaysia, spreading the message of love, peace, and Urdu culture through her poetry.

Apart from poetry, she is known for her simple and graceful personality. Her favorite poets include Mir Taqi Mir, Mirza Ghalib, and Josh Malihabadi. She is deeply devoted to literature and considers books to be her closest companions.

Shabeena Adeeb married Jauhar Kanpuri on 11 July 1997 and has a daughter named Tooba Jauhar. Her father was Aziz Ahmad (late), and her mother is Rabbo Begum.

For her outstanding contribution to Urdu poetry, she has been honored with several awards and recognitions by literary organizations and cultural institutions. Today, she is regarded as a leading voice of Urdu poetry and continues to inspire millions of admirers around the globe.
