جناب janāb
A جناب janāb, s.f. Side, brink, margin; a court or yard; vestibule; threshold; a place to which one repairs for refuge, &c. (hence, as a title of respect, in addressing, or speaking of, a great man) your honour, your excellency, your majesty; his honour, &c.:—janāb-ě-ʻālī, Exalted Sir! your, or his, excellency, &c.=janāb:—janāb-ě-man, My dear Sir.
جانب jānib
A جانب jānib, s.f. Side; part; outward or adjacent part, quarter, tract, or region; party; direction;—postpn. In the direction (of, -kī), towards:—jānib-dar, adj. & s.m. Taking a side, partial;—a supporter, second; a patron; a partisan:—jānib-dārī, s.f. جنب junub
