H کيا क्या kyā [for kiʼā = kihā = Ap. Prk. केहो=Prk. केद्दहो=S.कीट्टशः], interrog. pron. (obl. kāhe), What? how? why? (The form is the same in both numbers, e.g. kyā hai, 'What is it?';—kyā haiṅ, 'what are they?'; kyā is often the sign of interrogation at the beginning of a sentence, like the Persian āyā and the Latin an or num, and is, like them, untranslated when in such a position);—conj. Whether, or;—intj. What! how!:—kyā aććhā, How fine! well done! bravo! &c. 'Change of body'; the recovering freshness and healthiness of appearance (after sickness); an elixir or aphrodisiac for restoring the old to youth;—transmigration:—kāyā palatnā (apnī), To recover freshness and healthiness of look (after sickness); to undergo transmigration, to transmigrate:—kāyā-kashṭ, s.m. Bodily pain, bodily toil or labour:—kāyā-kalap, s.m. Restoring youth by means of certain medicines, &c. (see kāyā-palaṭ).
