A مفلس muflis (act. part. of افلس 'to become insolvent; to be reduced to poverty,' iv of فلس not in use; see fals, and fulūs), adj. & s.m. Insolvent, bankrupt; penniless; indigent, needy, in want, poor, wretched, beggarly;—an insolvent; a penniless person, a pauper;—(as used by Europeans) a bachelor:—muflis banā-denā or muflis karnā or kar-denā, v.t. To make poor, reduce to poverty, to impoverish.
